Until I See You Again is an Ed, Edd n Eddy fanfiction, more specifically, a large collection of unpublished love stories starring the genderbent Edd and Marie Kanker.
The main plot is about them being reincarnated through time, though every "chapter" has its own plot and doesn't always explicitly acknowledge the main story, making it seem like they're different realities. Next to reincarnation, soulmateship is treated as a real phenomenon; and is the factor that ensures the characters never complete a lifetime without finding each other.
Many chapters were conceived around 2010, but never written down or brought into public attention. Artwork for this series appeared 6 years later at Deviantart, still with little explanation or context given.
The main story is about Ann and Larie being reborn every few hundred to millions of years later and put in different settings, where fate reintroduces them to each other and makes them repeatedly deal with their naturally conflicting personalities. This is because of a curse cast by an earlier, spiteful version of Ann, who was a fairy with magic abilities. Larie's bad behaviour -as a Kanker and adult, imagined by VampireMeerkat- is also argued to be her doing.
Ann and Larie used to be different from their established selves in An, Ann n Anny/Ed, Edd n Eddy. They existed on a previous version of Earth where human beings lived together with mythological creatures. Ann's first form was a powerful fairy and Larie was an especially kind and patient human.
Unlike Ann/Edd's canon personality, the fairy "Anna-Marie" much resembled a pompous teenage girl who had a great dislike for weakness, which included the human race she shared a forest with. She was a skilled user of magic and destined to become the archfairy and leader of her kind, which gave her less reason to be humble. Larie first saw her at the age of 6 and became smitten right away, but after she used him as a slave and punching bag for years, she grew tired of his presence. She blew out his right eye and turned him into a beast, bringing an official end to the one-sided relationship.
As a beast, he was stripped of his humanity and had a mental illness inflicted on him that came with psychosis, uncontrollable anger, and many emotions he never experienced before. His body steered him into committing atrocities against innocent creatures, and after realizing he wasn't growing older and couldn't commit suicide to bring an end to it, he focused his rage on the fairy race in order to keep all else safe from himself. He hunted them for thousands of years, until he came across the reincarnation of his long deceased love interest and cause of his troubles, Anna-Marie. Reincarnation was a normal occurrence within the fairy race, and the child he spotted was undoubtedly her.
As his love for her still lingered, he couldn't get himself to kill her and retreated. The reborn Ann had no memories of her old self, as her original soul had been discarded by her body; and gone through a clean reset as punishment for her ungracious behaviour. She grew up intrigued by her immortal enemy and wished to study him, to her parents' dismay.
Beast Larie and the reborn fairy, Anna-Marie (2019).
She followed Larie around, and when she discovered he possessed some level of intelligence, decided to directly impose her presence and help him regain his humanity. Memories of his old self returned to him and he was able to form normal sentences within a few months. Eventually he became willing to share with her the details of his being.
The young Ann grew fond of him, but felt remorse for the mean-spirited deeds of her old self and promised to train hard for her future as the archfairy, whereafter she could undo the curse. Since she was technically the one who cast it, she managed to return him to his human form without much setback, though Larie appeared to had aged a fair deal in his presumed years of immortality. Ann's romantic feelings for him stayed unchanged despite this.
Ann's soul, housing the memory of the previous fairy, awakened displeased with her reincarnation's undoing of the spell and disapproved of their love with a warning. Because Ann refused to adopt her arrogant way of thinking, the old fairy made Ann curse him and herself as punishment.
Not understanding what's been done, they decided to ignore it and start their life together.
Not long after the spell was cast, reality began to rip and a "black hole" was created from it that violently sucked in the planet. It managed to close itself up after consuming all life, but the whole incident spawned two worlds that started attracting and judging the souls of the dead; Heaven and Hell.
Details of the curse
The intention of the curse is to free Ann from associating with the "lesser" Larie by making them conclude they're not worth the hassle of staying together. It's assumed that the creation of Heaven and Hell wasn't entirely accidental;
If they both die feeling nothing for each other after meeting up, or with contempt, the curse will be broken and they'll enter the afterlife. Here they won't get to be together because of their unanimous decision to separate, which the curse and the caster consider a victory. Heaven only shows the people important to the deceased, though this idea proved to be a paradox, as Ann and Larie once managed to meet in the afterlife and he still got separated and sent to Hell for his crimes on Earth. The curse was also unable to properly reincarnate Larie and accepted his tortured soul in Hell as a reincarnation, likely because of the fluctuating amount of magic lingering in the air ever since the first Earth destroyed itself.
Some of the settings they meet in make it challenging for romance to grow, but it rarely happens that they fail to connect within a relatively short period of time. This tends to take longer when their memories of each other are wiped clean, but the curse isn't consistent at doing this. It can happen that one or both of them remembers their past lives and knows what needs to be done in order to swoon the other. Ann moreso than Larie, as she is an inherently cautious person and Larie not delicate enough in his approach.
They won't remember past their first reincarnation (Earth 2) and the reason for their rebirth stays a mystery to them.
Larie's personality can become a problem for Ann if he's without his memories, since he suffers from the remains of the monster curse that urges him to misbehave as more years pass by. He'll become less cooperative the longer he lives without her around, but the severity of his behaviour depends on his home situation and the type of world he lives in. Her presence functions as a buffer and helps him develop into a more approachable person, which isn't a rule set by the curse, but an effect that stems back from their original relationship when she was his teacher.
When Larie enters his senile years and has not yet met Ann, his blunt aggression is usually replaced with uncertainty, loneliness and skepticism. In some way, Ann mirrors this mindset the older she gets.
The curse makes sure some habits are repeated:
Ann and Larie will always be reborn with the personality they acquired after their second rebirth and will never revert back to their original selves; when Ann was arrogant and Larie behaved.
Ann and Larie will always keep their names or a variant of it.
Ann and Larie tend to wear the same clothes or borrow elements from their usual attire.
Ann and Larie will often cut and wear their hair the same way.
Larie's right eye will always get damaged and go blind at one point in his life.
There's a high chance Ann will be born as an only child in a household with mostly absent parents.
There's a high chance Larie will be born in a poor household with a single parent.
Timeline
Because their reincarnation is neverending, Ann and Larie come to experience many different versions of Earth and are occasionally portrayed as something other than human. These Earths always spawn in the same location as the one that died before it and are more or less born under the same conditions, explaining their similarities.
Below is a table showing Ann and Larie's meetings in chronological order, including a short description of events.
EARTH 1
This is supposedly the first Earth ever spawned by the universe. This world had fairy tale-like creatures who existed together with humans. It did not survive long.

2nd meeting:
???
Persici forest
(arch)fairy, meets Larie at age 2
unknown beast of unknown age
Anna-Marie's reincarnation is born thousands of years later, but the transformed Larie can't take out his anger on an oblivious toddler carrying his love interest's face and he lets her live. The memory of how Larie spared her never left Ann's mind and she grows up curious about her enemy's origin and past with the fairy race. Her stalking pays off; the animal speaks to her and a relationship grows that no fairy would approve of. The Ann of the past that still resides inside her soul shares this opinion and her spiritual image appears upset over her wish to share "their" body with the human she hated and cursed. She uses her influence to curse him and her disobedient self, setting off the reincarnation cycle.
EARTH 2
This is a normal world -the current one- dominated by human beings and regular animals.
This Earth somehow managed to preserve the knowledge of the mythological creatures that lived on the previous Earth, though they're presented as legends and bedtime stories.

Ann is an office policewoman asked to infiltrate the hideout of a powerful mob boss, Larie. As other cops and better trained forces have long given up -allowing for his control over Canada and the states to grow- Ann's boss sees his chance to earn a hero status by sending the worryingly unqualified Ann off to Larie's underground club as a female companion. Being the only female officer in his team of a reasonable age, and without "a family who'd miss her", she is guilted into complying. Because of the little training or adjustments made, Ann stands out in a bar hosted by sensual faces and better actors, but Larie becomes drawn to her hilarious incompetence and oddly honest responses. While he can't make sense out of her given excuse for why she took a job she's visibly uncomfortable with and is uncertain if someone like her could be an undercover cop, she becomes his number one girl, which allows her to listen in on his arrangements with other criminals.
But the plan to kill or set him up becomes less appealing to Ann the more she lets him charm her, and she thinks that motivating Larie to retire is a better solution. Meanwhile, his men report back that she's indeed a cop, though her reputation as a desk clerk brings more confusion on whether or not she'll be a problem and needs to die.

Ann remembers her previous life and realizes she's experiencing a reset in time. Now that she knows where to find Larie, she once again joins the police force and repeats her steps, but this time suggests a less humiliating undercover plan to her superiors. After she proves herself to be a good actor and gifted with daggers (since she’s copying Larie’s act) she’s sent off to his hideout as a male lackey applicant instead. The lessons learned from her previous life helps her to convincingly play the role of a street smart criminal, and she becomes Larie’s best friend and right-hand man, despite his instinctual hunch she's a cop. When his curiosity becomes too great and he forcefully strips her of her disguise, he is surprised to find out she's a woman, and his suspicion is immediately replaced with adoration.
While her feelings for him are the same, her previous life taught her there's only one real way to end Larie's reign peacefully, and she guides her lovestruck partner into the hands of the police. He is sentenced life in jail. Ann visits him on a daily basis, while his followers have abandoned him. While feeling betrayed, he appreciates her obsession with him and promises not to kill her when he gets out. Ann finds his statement rather optimistic, until she indeed finds him gone from prison a year later.

Larie is a problem child going around stealing from gullible households under the guise of doing chores. Ann catches him with his hand on her wallet, but decides to give him a chance to better himself. Since she knows where he lives and can call the police on him at any time, Larie accepts her offer to do real chores for her and obediently visits her every day for the upcoming years. He gets addicted to her motherly attention and they become each other's best friend, but he can’t help developing romantic feelings as well. When he explains the reasons of his visits, Ann becomes uncomfortable and worries if the neighbourhood has been assuming things based on their routine. After Larie shares his wish of wanting to marry her during a fight back home, Larie's father shows up for the first time, accusing her of being a child groomer. Larie doesn't trust how his neglectful father shows sudden concern for him, and warns Ann he's likely trying to get money out of it. Nevertheless, the persecution becomes too much for her and she decides to move away without informing anyone. Larie becomes restless and runs away from home shortly after to find her. As he turned 18 by that time, he's free to do so.
2 years pass and Ann happens to spot Larie in her city, clearly homeless and pickpocketing pedestrians. She pulls him off the streets, but admits to be nervous having him back in her life. Larie reassures her she was only used by his father for a failed money scheme and nobody even remembers him or her anymore. He manages to get promoted to being her roommate, despite her initial wishes, and his quest of winning her over continues.

Click "Expand" to read more:
Ann feels unsatisfied about her life and wants to start a family, but has not had any romantic endeavours because of her demanding hospital work. As her age is creeping up on her and she doesn't want to miss her chance for a child, she decides to pick out a donor from the hospital's banks to inseminate herself with. She settles for the remains of a man who reportedly died years ago, in order to ensure she nor her future child will go looking for him and cause each other emotional stress. Her family picture feels incomplete without a partner, though, but Ann can't get herself to act informal towards the clients visiting her at work nor think of other instances to meet people at. She registers herself at a dating organisation at the height of her pregnancy and is invited to meet up with other members at a medium-sized event, though it becomes clear her backwards planning was a mistake. No one wants to step into a love boat with a woman about to deliver and she is mostly ignored by both men and women; insinuating she's the subject of gossip. One of the men, Larie, has similar bad luck because of his untrustworthy appearance, but seems not concerned by this fact. As another outcast, he notices Ann and sees his opportunity to ask her about her pregnancy. After she shares with him the details and the event comes to a close, they go their separate ways, but keep seeing each other at future meetings. The sense of familiarity spawns a friendship and they make a habit out of abusing the organisation's events to hang out together, instead of approaching singles, not realizing their growing relationship is proof of its success.
On the day of the baby's arrival, Larie takes Ann to the hospital and is allowed to stand by her side, but after seeing the child and she shares with him the donor's last name, they figure out he is the father. Still, his registered death reveals that Larie had a different life he chose to leave behind, but Ann chooses not to ask about it.

Earth is dying and a large space ark is created to save enough people to warrant humanity's survival. But as boarding begins, the realization hits that priority was given to those who funded the ark's development or bought "tickets"; the old and rich. With an ark filled with people over 70 years old, it creates a stressful situation that births a dictatorship ruled by the staff operating the ship and its resources. The few young faces are extremely valued, yet treated like chattel, like the now orphaned Ann, who the world-weary Larie ends up taking in before somebody less well-intended does. His protection earns him her gratitude, but after a few years she (un)subtly wishes to bring their relationship to a level Larie isn't comfortable with. On the night she musters the courage to officially confess her love to him, Larie is asleep and misses the message, then is found dead the next morning.
Ann is given no time to grieve and ordered to stay and start a family with another man. This info reveals Larie had signed the two up with a "couple status" years ago, just to keep the board off their backs.

"Ann is made a house slave for the emperor that took over her village, though her unfamiliarity with his appearance makes their first meeting an oddly casual one..."
Click "Expand" to read more:
Larie is a tyrannical emperor in constant war with neighbouring civilizations, whose armies capture villagers to resupply his ever-decreasing collection of slaves. Ann is brought to his palace with other prisoners and enters harsh conditions many of the fellow servants don't survive through. Though she's often ill and crippled, the effort she puts into her cleaning duties don't go unnoticed, and one day Larie passes by to save her from a lethal fall off a ladder and comments on this devotion of hers. She mistakes him for a general and his intrigue for her invites her to be more chatty with him than is appropriate. Larie plays along with her obliviousness, allowing for a polite acquaintanceship to grow. The moments of kindness he shows her, compared to the behaviour of the other staff in the palace, are blown out of proportion and she develops a small crush on him. The other servants question Ann's description of said general and think she's insane, and a traitor, for speaking positively about an enemy.
When Ann and Larie's relationship becomes consistently casual, she grows a habit of waiting for him behind doors, which bothers the guards uninformed of their meetings. Larie has to make a final decision about their relationship when his staff becomes especially abusive towards her over a misunderstanding he never clarified.

Click "Expand" to read more:
Ann is the daughter of two unemployed university teachers who borrowed huge amounts of money in order to fund her existence and education. They start feeling the heat when they realize they haven't been able to pay back a dime since her birth, and are asked to meet with their loan shark, Larie, at a nondescript house party. Because of the long distance and their reluctance to leave the sheltered Ann alone at home, she is brought along on the trip, but becomes impatient when her parents seemingly don't return. She accidentally enters a VIP room, where Larie's business meeting gets interrupted by the bodyguards taking offense to her presence. Ann's unfamiliarity with the big names present intrigues Larie and he sits her down for an interview. He learns she's the daughter of the people he just sent off to their execution, but likes Ann enough to revert his verdict and have them come back.
Ann's parents nervously act along with Larie's nice wording of the situation at hand, but Ann draws a different conclusion and believes Larie is an old family friend who funded her entire life out of kindness. Her genuine gratitude flatters Larie and he arranges with her reluctant parents to give her hand in marriage in place of the money they owe. While Ann issues no complaints and gladly goes out on dates with her "selfless caretaker", her parents worry for her future. They try to figure out their options, while Larie tries to get Ann on his side by arguing that the obsessive care her parents have for her qualifies as abuse.

Larie remembers his past lives with Ann and keeps leaving home and skipping school to go look for her, thus his parents have him locked up in a strict boarding school for boys. There he meets up with Ann, who is now a boy named Edd. Upset about the situation and not knowing what approach to take, he takes it out on him and becomes another school bully Edd has to deal with. Nevertheless, Larie can't ignore the many similarities Edd has to his Ann and finds himself "calling dibs" on the act of harassing him, making Edd unsure if Larie is his enemy or a socially inept guy trying to look out for him. Because Larie goes out of his way to become Edd's roommate and his behaviour in private can be odd, Edd thinks he might be a closeted homosexual who fancies him. But when Larie shares with him a fond story about a girl he loved and lost, Edd is even more confused. Eventually they become best friends and the struggles of the past seemingly never happened. Larie tries to involve Edd with the school's social activities and the bullying is less present than it was before they met. After having convinced Edd to go to the upcoming costume party, they manage to whip up a last minute theme; where Larie wants to go as a self-proclaimed mob boss and Edd received a convincing make-over as his "cool female partner". Here Larie's damaged eye is seen for the first time and sparks some discussion.
At the event, Edd earns himself genuine compliments from the boys dressed in more jokey girl outfits, though he begins to feel uncomfortable when Larie keeps accepting to take silly harem pictures with these people. He can't find the reason for his emotions or what they even entail, but when Larie brings up on his distant behaviour back in their room, he thinks it's best to be honest with his friend, while he doesn't even know what the truth is. Larie jokes he's bipolar and Edd is left thinking it through.

Ann is a queen who got married off at a young age as to unite two kingdoms. Her husband is distant with her and her only company exists out of a young servant boy who was born and raised in the castle. Larie's interest in his queen is far from subtle, but Ann thinks it's inappropriate to answer to their feelings and doesn't, despite her husband being openly unfaithful. When Ann turns 40 and her wish for a baby still hasn't been fulfilled, she plans to stay up late to discuss this with her husband, but he never seems to join her in bed anymore and leaves her waiting. One night, Larie notices there's light coming from the royal bedroom and figures Ann is experiencing trouble sleeping. He surprises an intentionally well-dressed Ann by bringing her warm milk unannounced. Keeping her explanation simple; Ann says to be waiting for the king and asks him if he knows about his whereabouts, to which Larie responds he's in a different bed with 5 other women. Ann is distraught and understands her husband no longer cares enough about keeping up appearances to ever give her a child, yet visibly tries to keep a straight face in front of Larie's company. Her only response is the announcement she'll be starting her slumber, but Larie uses the situation to throw himself onto her and tries to erase her hesitance by arguing her husband isn't planning on joining her ever again. She becomes carried away in the moment and accepts him as her partner, despite opening up the risk of an unapproved pregnancy and penalty for their actions. Meanwhile, a widely discussed enemy is reported to be drawing near, until one day its army attacks the castle and starts slaughtering the people inside. Ann fails to find Larie or her husband in time and locks herself up in her bedroom. She is captured by the army's leader before she do anything to fight them off. She is taken to an unknown castle and locked up in a cell, but hears more battle sounds going on, insinuating her army men followed her. She manages to barely squeeze through the bars thanks to her skinny body frame, and tries to use the indoors madness to sneak out of castle, but is again spotted and caught by the walking suit of armor from before. He takes her away from the noise into the dungeon and reveals himself to be Larie. Ann is appalled, but he is blind for her response and asks her to stay with him and be his wife. Ann can't accept him after learning he's the infamous tyrant going around destroying peaceful kingdoms and villages, while pretending to be her bright-eyed servant. Larie argues he had to build an empire and take down hers to ensure their future together and the safety of their child, especially from her husband. Ann can't find herself in his reasoning.
She is unable to shake off the bad vibes she gets from Larie, but is excused from giving him a final answer when he gets hit by an arrow and tumbles towards the dungeon's pit. Ann grabs onto him in time, but Larie says to want to die if he can't have her. The archer, Ann's husband, is offended by her action and orders her to let him go, which the weak-jointed Ann ends up doing, whether she wants to or not.

After 5 years of absence, Larie returns to the neighbourhood straight-faced with a partly shaven head; seemingly lobotomised/electroshocked. When Ann learns of his return, she shows up with the intention to make a fresh start, but Larie is unresponsive and his father greatly insulted by her presence. After experiencing these results, Ann regrets the past and hopes to fix their relationship by routinely visiting Larie to talk and bring items he once loved. One day he decides to speak to her and explains his silence is a choice, because he wishes not to see her again. Not knowing how to respond, she leaves, but tries again a week later.

Despite following her careful act from a few lifetimes ago, she's unable to make a full end to his intimidating behaviour. Larie has feelings for her, but they are unknown to him and turn him possessive over loving.
When a threat of an approaching gang war comes in, he sends the now pregnant Ann off with the right to his fortune, this being the best proof of his love for her. Larie dies and Ann moves to a random country, but the existence of his child and the money makes her an important target, and 5 years later she and her son are found and shot in an alleyway;

"Larie is immediately reborn as his previous form's own child -his last one left in a state of death shortly after conception- and grows up on a new Earth. After many years of living through uninhabitable circumstances, he meets an appealing face to cure him of his loneliness..."

Ann and Larie's child from Earth 4 awakens on a young, inhabitable Earth, but is able to survive the lack of atmosphere and food because of his supernatural qualities. Since many years have passed, he's skipped his childhood and looks like an adult, but has ingrained intelligence to help him understand his surroundings. Millions of years pass, where he suffers through loneliness and confusion about his own origin, while the world and its creatures around him ever so slowly change. When the human race starts to develop itself, he thinks to recognize himself in them, but concludes they're not the same and considers them a dumber, less valuable parody of him. Nevertheless, one day a girl from a tribe that's recently settled down in the area catches his eye, and an immediate attraction towards her emerges. When he strolls into the simple village to take a closer look, she becomes afraid and other residents also alarmed by the odd-looking human. Men show up to fight him off, but are instantly killed, only creating more fear among the confused villagers. The girl hides inside her home, offering little actual protection, and as she doesn't speak a developed language and is skittish like a wild animal, he's unable to communicate with her. He decides to come back later with a peace offer and keeps bribing her until she feels safe to come out. Days go by, and they slowly begin to interact, while the other villagers watch the unwelcome intruder from a distance, but know not to be a match and stay out of his way. As he spends more time with her, his feelings for her become undeniable and he wishes to take her to his home, despite the gap in mental and social development. But his impatience seemingly resets the progress he had made and the girl starts fleeing again. Sick of the loneliness and grown addicted to her presence, he forcefully grabs her, while her neighbours watch. He takes her to a more modern-looking home, made of logs and baked clay, with rooms and furniture alien to her. He helps her take a bath, bakes food he's seen other tribes make, and creates clothes for her from pelts he had already lying around, greatly pleasing the naked woman and finally spawning an expression of gratitude. Though her eagerness to escape whenever he's got his back turned stays awhile, he and his strange, but comfortable house grow on her and she begins to trust him. As he now has company in his life, he decides they should have a name to call each other by. He settles with "Larie", while the grunting girl is given a name she can actually pronounce, "Ann". Their relationship grows, and before too long, their first child is born. Larie notices how "untouched" and much it looks like him, and begins to think his partner might not be so different from him. Their family expands every following year, until the house is filled with many blue-haired vampires, all extremely devoted to their mother and her comfort. During these many years, Ann has learned a few words in order to communicate with her more evolved family, though her communication skills stay basic. Nevertheless, she's shown to be tolerant and empathetic when one of her youngest daughters attempts to eat her, who Larie argues is too instinct-driven and has to be killed for her safety. Ann decides to protect her daughter gone savage and begs for her life to be spared. When Larie releases the child's throat, she savagely rips at her mother's arm, but recognizes the kindness that was shown to her and calms herself down. Like all of her children, they live to please her, either instinctually or eventually out of free will.
Though she's not dubbed the "mother of vampires"; a title given to Larie's unknown mother (Ann from the previous Earth), her kindness and her power to control the ruthless vampire race is remembered and becomes part of their lore.

Ann reaches breeding age and heads over to the meeting grounds to find herself a partner for life, but competition is brutal and she has trouble getting anyone's attention. Meanwhile, Larie and a few other allcats plan use the haremans' get-together to collect food for an upcoming celebration. The separated Ann isn't hard to miss and Larie abandons his fellow hunters to flirt with the wallflower as a joke. Because of his stubby tail, he is able to approach her by claiming to be a short-eared rabbit.
Though Ann has her doubts, his willingness to hear out her concerns wins him points and she accepts his engagement proposal. Larie wastes no time to reveal he's an allcat and celebrates her obligation to live with him in the allcat city, as are her species' rules. While he considered it a good lulz, he finds the idea of marrying her increasingly enticing, unlike his fellow allcats.
"Larie is the prince of a tribe of feared humanoid predators who falls in love with someone he has to consider inferior. He can't get himself to kill her and instead takes her home as a prisoner, but his father cares nothing for the idea to turn a human into a servant and orders her death. Larie again can't and feels urged to elope with his confused victim. His tribe doesn't accept his decision and goes after their fleeing future king, preventing Larie to settle down or figure himself out. Ann doesn't understand why things have escalated this way or why her enemy wants to appear decent in her eyes, and finds there's little she can do to convince her kidnapper to let her go.

Before exiting another unenthusiastic village, she gets drawn to the loud bickering of a "machinemaker" and his employee, Larie. Larie comes across the secluded home of his old victim, but doesn't recognise her. He sees in her a rare delicacy he should claim and again chases her down, whereafter he enters a familiar predicament inside a rock formation. This time he is left to die and Ann leaves the area to go look for a new home. A month passes, and Ann returns to check on the state of her old house, and Larie. His body is still present, but he's unresponsive and stuck in a ghoulish death state. While it makes him look different, Ann thinks to recognize him and decides to take the opportunity to test a shark's claimed endurance by attempting to "nurse him back to life". After a few weeks of doing so, Larie has returned to his former strength and they reintroduce. Again owing her, he offers to escort her out of the endless shark domain, though she requires to wear a disguise and must learn to bluff if she wants to stand a chance. He takes her to his home in the previous merpeople kingdom, where an abundance of human trash is present for them to create a believable shark body with. While Larie prepares for the long travel, Ann manages to builds up a reputation for herself. She becomes desirable to the male sharks and an idol to the women, though it's mainly because her shark partner plays along with it. She understands to owe him alot and develops feelings for him.

Ann is a registered mutant who wishes the pursue a normal life, but when humanity gets threatened by a vengeful mutant and all professional heroes have been wiped out, the government contacts her with the request to defeat him. Ann explains not to be a superhero or to have ever explored her powers, but they don't care for her excuses and remind her it's the birth duty of mutants to keep each other in check. While she knows not to stand a chance against the villain, she doesn't want to be branded a traitor, thus agrees to their demand - disguised as a request. As is customary for hero mutants, she creates a costume to hide her identity with and nervously confronts the hostile mutant as "Spider Solitude", which is such a last-minute name, it earns her a chuckle from the man. Larie has no pseudonym or special clothes, making Ann feel somewhat silly, even though she understands to be doing it for her privacy. Though nobody has been a match for him so far, he looks excited to see a new hero make an attempt and welcomes Ann to kill him. As expected, Ann can only dodge and directly throw some objects at him. Since she doesn't show off any supernatural abilities, Larie can't figure out her speciality and only laughs at her given example that "high grades at school" are her ability. Larie's patronizing school bully-behaviour angers Ann, and when he tries to come closer, she surprises him by giving him short-lived telepathic pushes. They don't do harm, but he notes no mutant or machine has been able to move him at all. Still, his initial excitement for the battle has ran dry and he grabs her with the intent to kill, until armed drones show up to shoot up the area. Using her head device, Ann begs the army to abort their desperate strategy; as she's not resilient against bullets and they should already know they don't work against the powerful mutant. Larie, indeed just standing there, informs her they don't care, as they've witnessed her failure and she's become useless to them. He promises she'll be discarded by the world, like what happened to him. Ann doesn't know what he's talking about, but is only concerned with fleeing the scene before she gets hit. She manages to twist her skinny body over his and slither out of his grip. Larie is perplexed by her sudden flexibility and watches her ungracefully scurry off in the bullet rain. With his interest for her renewed, he chases her down to grab a second time, inviting the drones along for the ride. Ann yelps overs his "carelessness", and before the shooting drones can come near her again, she worms herself out of his hands like a gymnast who's late for the bus. Larie is enjoying himself frightening the discarded hero with the aggressive drones he refuses to destroy, while Ann desperately yells at her contact person to abort the attack. There's no response or running from the sadistic mutant. She keeps turning around, trying to spawn whatever powers she might have, but there's only the occasional push. Though it doesn't stop him, Larie's expression changes every time it occurs.

"Larie is the leader of multiple criminal businesses, one of them being involved with the practise of kidnapping wealthy children for money..."
Click "Expand" to read more:
Ann is the daughter of a rich couple often gone travelling for work and pleasure, making her an easy target for kidnapping and extortion practises. One day after school, she's thrown into a van and taken to an unknown location. Though blindfolded, she can determine from the panicking voices next to her that she is one of the many victims brought in and that her abductors have set up a business around people like her. A voice reassures the teenagers that their parents will be given a generous amount of time to respond to their calls and meet the demands, but Ann is noticeably indifferent after this attempt to silence them, since she knows her parents are unreachable. She's unconvinced she'll ever return home and shows little emotion overall. Ann ends up getting more or less forgotten because of her lack of presence, while old victims are replaced with new voices every few days. A month later, the leader shows up to check on current business and recognizes Ann from last time he visited. Because his henchmen admit to have never spoken to her, and she's from an exceptionally rich family, Larie wants to give her a second chance and asks her directly how to contact her family. She admits there's no way. This answer dissatisfies him and he leaves to check her personal files. He only finds more confirmation about her parents' lengthy trips and the absence of human interaction in her life; there's nobody to contact. The gloominess in the photos his men took as preperation aren't hard to miss and Larie becomes angry at them for not figuring out from their own research she's a dud. He heads back to the cell and formally informs Ann she's become useless to them and needs to die for their safety. She offers no resistance to this long-expected conclusion, which puzzles him. Larie does a second take and notices she looks sick compared to the other victims, insinuating she's been a cheap guest. He ponders out loud if it's worth keeping her another month, in order to get some excitement out of her, but Ann intercepts and says not to want to live anymore. Besides the starvation pains, she argues they could've never kidnapped her in broad daylight if there was someone out there who cared about her. Larie gets no pleasure from someone he can't emotionally control or intimidate and reverts his verdict anyway, allowing her to stay. Further intrigued by her, he becomes her personal caretaker. She doesn't feel comfortable with him around, but ends up appreciating the attention as more time passes and her health improves. Nevertheless, his visits and their socializing confuse the other victims in the room, and some start to believe the two know each other. Ann says not to recognize his voice or scent, but the growing favouritism is hard to deny or understand. Another month passes and it becomes clear nobody will come for her. After their time spent, Larie is willing to arrange a deal and promises she'll be brought home safely if she continues her life like nothing happened. Ann worries for the other victims, but Larie claims he's a real Robin Hood who only targets snooty rich people and never had a guest they had to kill. Whether or not he would've killed her is difficult to prove. The young Ann allows herself to be convinced and tries to warp her sense of morality for the man she's grown fond of. At her house, he allows her to see his face before departure, then asks if there's a future for them. Ann is unable to answer, still, they share the night together. The following morning she's awakened by the police and her hysterical parents, who just received the messages of her kidnapping. Ann attempts to keep her promise to Larie, but her parents notice her worsened health and have her checked up. The doctors see that her body suffered low temperatures and starvation, and in addition conclude she must've been raped. Her reluctance to speak doesn't improve things, and after attributing it to shock, they second guess it's Stockholm syndrome. As she is the only victim who has gotten this close to the "king of criminals", the police pressures her to speak up nearly every day.
A couple of weeks later, Ann is reported to have been kidnapped again. After her disappearance, the other kidnappings stopped, insinuating she and Larie left and started a new life elsewhere.

Larie lives a mediocre life while looking for Ann, and happens to meet her one day when picking up his new ID card at the DMV. He doesn't know what approach to take, then notices she's cautious of the fidgeting trailer bum and decided to leave the building before he scares her off. Outside he considers his options, until he sees her exit and trying to get the attention of a taxi. Larie hastily steals one and drives up to Ann, knowing this will help him learn of her home location. Ann gets in with little suspicion and they engage in polite conversation during the traffic jam. She then recognizes him as the staring man. Larie excuses his behaviour by claiming she looks like his late wife -since he knows the truth won't be believed. Ann buys it, but starts asking more questions when the description of his wife starts to sound familiar. He manages to shake her off the subject by appearing too upset to talk about it further. As Ann doesn't have a driver's license, Larie often shows up with another stolen taxi to pick her up before a real driver can. This gives them time to socialize, but Ann worries he's using her as a replacement for his wife, which makes it difficult for Larie to ask her out. Nevertheless, the two hit it off. Larie decides to never bring up the curse or his crimes against her, and thinks it's better to start anew.
Their relationship grows slowly and he has to resist jumping his timeless lover, but his efforts are rewarded and she gets over the "dead lookalike wife"-barrier. Larie gets to enjoy another marriage with Ann and all the familiarities that come with it.

The deer, Ann, is relieved to have been given this chance, as it reassures her her health is acceptable. But after all customary practises are over, Larie won't leave her alone and keeps following her wherever she goes. She feels intimidated, but doesn't has the confidence to chase him off. Larie tries to get closer every day, until he can lie next to her at night. The two deer don't know the meaning of their own behaviour, though agree it feels good. Larie stays with her and they form a family. Their offspring seems to have the same kind of attachment to each other and keep coming "home" for the night.
Having this many stags around offers Ann a great deal of protection from predators and humans wishing to capture her for her unsual looks, but when her sons find their own does to start a family with and Larie dies of old age, it doesn't take long for the humans to get their hands on her. Larie is a remarkably untame lion born in a zoo, and leader of his pre-assembled pride. After a jeep with a caged black leopard passes by his exhibit, he's been restless. Hardly a day goes by without the zoo staff finding the escaped beast pacing in front of the leopard's cage. It worries them this will affect their park's reputation and they try out different locks, but none work. A year passes with no change, and as Larie won't give offspring to his pride and mauls the confused lionesses trying to attack him over his failure as their leader, the staff members are forced to come together and consider their options. Some think Larie should be sold, while others are curious to see what would happen if they allowed him to meet Anna-Marie the leopard. There's doubt that she'd be into that and the most sensible thing is decided on; Larie is traded in for a lion from another zoo. The peace and their reputation are reinstated, but Anna-Marie rarely shows herself anymore and the other zoo reports back that Larie's uncontrollable. The new lionesses have responded the same way to his negligence and met with his violence, but forcing him in time-out makes him devoid of life and he refuses to eat. They suggest the zoo takes him back or have him destroyed. The staff can't let go of the cub they raised themselves just yet and want him back. The lionesses stay out of his way this time, but the zoo knows this won't entertain the guests and their problems haven't been solved. As expected, another night passes with Larie having broken out and visiting the leopard. The staff notices that Anna-Marie became more willing to show herself since Larie's return and their earlier idea of having them meet is entertained.
After closing time, they strenuously try to cage up Larie and move him to her exhibit. With their dart guns ready, he's released and his every move watched. Larie howls until Anna-Marie shows up from the trees. They cuddle and kiss contentedly, and Larie is allowed to stay with her in the cluttered leopard exhibit. The couple earns the zoo media attention and the half-blood cubs that follow even more.

Dogs have entered a long evolution process to become like their long extinct human masters, but became divided along the way. Two noticeable groups were formed: The civilized doguns, who still wish to become human and disapprove of animal behaviour or features, and the less judgemental wolfons, who's ancestors grew tired of the obsession with humans and want to return to their roots. Despite the wolfons being more aggressive and instinctual in comparison, they are a minority that tends to mind their own business, until their patience gets tested by the doguns' trend to expand and modernize the forest. Larie is the leader of a large wolfon pack he fused together himself and believes the doguns need to die for the sake of their kind. But during the raid, a back German shepherd mix catches his attention. He remembers her from a long time ago when they were children and he was a wounded outcast. She fed and washed him, until her parents came home and chased the wolfon cub away. Because of their interaction and her shepherd body features, he believes her to be salvageable and worthy of living. Ann goes with him if he promises to spare the remaining villager, but Larie makes it clear she's a rookie and has not earned the privilege to command him. Only her parents are spared for willingly giving her up.
Ann quickly learns of the customs and rules the wolfons put on each other, and has trouble feeling at home in this primitive environment. She tries to separate herself as much as she can, but Larie expects her to become more like him and rarely leaves her be. Ann hopes to give her future husband a reeducation and turn him more civilized, possibly letting her go.

To see the two playing house and other inoffensive games pleases the organisation and they believe the foster parents are to thank for Larie's miraculous improvement. They agree the children should stay with them, nevertheless, Larie refuses to treat his caretakers as the authority in the house and they don't make it a secret they can't stand him. He's often left out of family events and sent to his room the moment he comes home. Ann grows up social, polite and work-driven, while Larie is still a troublemaker with many enemies. Their relationship hasn't changed and he's never disrespected her, yet Ann is often commanded not to engage with him and has to hang out with him in secret. When Larie is 18 and has again been fighting with his foster parents, Ann senses he needs some mental encouragement and sneaks into his room. As usual, he tells her there's nothing to worry about, but in his words and bedroom she finds clues that tell her he's planning on running away from home. She doesn't know how to segue into that topic, so returns to her room before their foster parents come to check on her for the night. She's unable to sleep and waits for her fear to come true. When she hears a window sliding open in the other room, she rushes to Larie, though finds him in bed. His window has in fact been opened and Ann assumes he's waiting for company to leave before going through with it. She prevents him from doing so by joining him in bed. Larie then tells her he wants out of this family, but Ann answers to fear she'll end up a people-pleasing robot if he leaves. The interaction goes on for a while and ends up with them making out. Though they kept their volume low, their foster father surprises them by barging in. When he finds them in each other's embrace, he loses it and calls it an incestuous relationship. Larie wastes no time to get in his face and argue with him, waking up the mother as well. His barrage of insults make the man boil with rage, and he starts throwing relentless punches while blaming him for corrupting "his sister". A shard from a broken lamp is swiped at his face, hitting him in the eye. Ann runs over and urges Larie to stay calm after this, in order not to give their father any excuse for this attack when the police comes to ask. She orders their petrified mother to call an ambulance and the father nervously scurries off after his outburst. But Larie sees his chance now that his caretakers are out of the room and jumps out the window. Ann calls after him, but he only responds to contact her later.

Ann is eager to meet Larie again and keeps her eyes open for him every moment of the day. When her parents want to take her along on holiday, she reluctantly accepts, but her choice is rewarded by seeing a young Larie and his parents sitting on the same bus as her. Since hers don't want her to wander off and approach strangers, she can only give him a wave and take a seat. Larie appears not to recognize her and shows slight confusion over her familiarity with him, but takes it as a sign she's into him and blows a kiss back. His nerves never ceases to amaze her, but this exchange becomes all they'll have after the bus is pushed into a lake by another vehicle. Ann and her family are rescued in time, but Larie and those in the back are found to have drowned while unconscious.
The way Ann responds to the news makes her parents think it might've been a friend, and they send her to counseling to help her deal with the accident, though the therapist gets little out of her. Ann has to finish another life without Larie.

Ann nervously awaits her meeting with Larie, and after living another long 28 years, sees him visit the hospital she works at. She tries to have him as her patient, though is deemed the wrong expert and has to entrust him to someone else. As an employee, she isn't allowed to casually approach or flirt with patients either, and he leaves her radar without having accomplished anything. When weeks go by and she hasn't seen him again, she asks the colleague that last talked to him what happened. After trying to recall him, he shares his suspicion Larie was a homeless criminal, and reported dead a while ago.
Ann turns mad with grief and locks herself up in her office for a good few hours. As she browses the room with its drug cabinets and tools, she contemplates killing herself to speed up her reincarnation, but can't get herself to do it.

Ann's optimism has decreased immensely after having lived three lifetimes without Larie. Her gloominess made her accomplish little in her current life and the fear she'll have to witness him die again is energy consuming. One day she enters a busy metro on her way home, where she gets pushed into a body with a familiar scent. She immediately recognizes the shabby, overweight man to be Larie, but he gives her little attention, despite the woman nearly merging with his back. Larie exits and Ann follows him without hesitation, though is led to a shady bar where gambling and other criminal practices are held. As Larie isn't participating and quietly sitting by himself at the bar, Ann manages to stay out of the other customers' way and sit herself near Larie. The bartender rightfully asks her if she's lost, but she insists on staying and is given a cup of hot water as replacement for the tea she originally wanted. Larie keeps mostly to himself, but gives her a few glares. When the people in the back start uttering audible threats to each other, he suggests her to leave the bar before things get too rough.

Trivia
Heaven and Hell are treated as physical worlds, though impossible to see and reach for the living. Since these originate from the first Earth, its natives are technically mythological creatures.
Ed, Edd n Eddy is considered an alternate reality from An, Ann n Anny, therefore the original characters don't make an appearance;
It can happen that Ann and Larie are born as the opposite gender, fully resembling the original characters.
The children Ann and Larie have throughout time tend to resemble the ones from the Ed, Edd n Eddy (An, Ann n Anny) Working series, but are not the same, as they're not affected by the reincarnation curse. Since their parents are, familiar features keep returning.
There's a Wiki page set up for the parrenflus space ark story (Earth 3; 15th meeting), and functions as Ann's diary during the events.
